“Feminist UX is still emerging, and much work remains to be done."

Nicole Telesz

This project began as the design artifact for my thesis, but it’s grown into something larger: a space where my research, curiosity, and values come together in practice. At its core, it explores the intersection of feminism and UX, showing how designers can center care, inclusivity, and attention to diverse perspectives. Feminist UX is a framework that extends far beyond this project, and this artifact marks the beginning of that exploration — a starting point for thinking, questioning, and designing with intention.

UX and Interactive Designer

I’m a multidisciplinary designer creating thoughtful, interactive experiences with intention, empathy, and a tendency to overthink the small stuff (on purpose). My background is in Computer Science at the University of Florida, but my time at The Savannah College of Art and Design studying Interactive Design has inspired my deep curiosity about how people move through systems — and who those systems are really designed for.

Feminist UX is my evolving framework — a brainchild shaped by my academic work, personal values, and long-standing curiosity about how design impacts people differently. What began as a thesis has become a living approach to making, questioning, and caring through design — and the foundation for how I want to move forward as a designer.

Acknowledgements

This work would not have been possible without the incredible team of people who supported me throughout the entire process.

I want to thank the Savannah College of Art and Design for creating an environment where I could be curious, ask hard questions, and work toward meaningful solutions. I’m deeply grateful to my thesis committee — Professor Sari Gilbert, Dr. Robyn-Ann Potanin, and Professor Lee Cody — for their continued encouragement, guidance, and feedback, which kept me motivated and allowed this work to reach its fullest potential. A special thank you to Professor David Meyers for his instrumental role in the development of my design artifact, and to Professor MaryClaire Pappas for her guidance in exploring the fascinating and intricate world of feminism.

Lastly, I want to thank the support system in my own life that carried me through this journey. To my family, friends, and partner: I’ll never be able to fully put into words how much you all mean to me.
